A houseboat weekend on the Rhine
Morning coffee overlooking the water, a walk through Lorch and an evening on your own roof terrace: a Burgflotte weekend leaves room for small plans and long pauses. Modern 1 and Modern 2 are stationary houseboats, permanently moored at Marina Rheinlicht in Lorch am Rhein. You stay on the water without navigating a boat or needing a boating licence.
Settle in and enjoy the view
Each booking gives you the whole houseboat. From its sheltered mooring behind the island of Lorcher Werth, you can look towards vineyards, wooded hills and castles. Set down your bags, make something in the fully equipped kitchen and find a seat by the panoramic windows.
Spend the next day exploring Lorch, walking in the surrounding countryside or simply reading and cooking together. Your private roof terrace is there when you return, with a Rhine view that changes with the light.
Choose your houseboat
Modern 1 has a double-bed cabin, a separate bunk-bed cabin and a sofa bed in the living area. Modern 2 has two separate double-bed cabins and a sofa bed. Both accommodate up to six guests. Four guests sleep in the cabins; the fifth and sixth guests use the sofa bed in the living area.
Each boat includes a bathroom, heating and air conditioning, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels. Two free parking spaces are available per boat at the marina. Stays are usually available from two nights. The availability search shows the minimum stay for your chosen dates.
